Favourite makeup products can be so subjective: one person’s makeup triumph is another person’s beauty banality. However, over the past few weeks and months I have been using and loving these beauty products, and whilst they may not perform the same for you, I would recommend them:
MAC Patentpolish Lip Pencil- this product is a real winner in the beauty stakes. Combining the colour and shine of a gloss, its stick format is deceiving giving a creamy and smooth finish. I’ve also found it very good for re-hydrating dry lips and am a fan of the twist-up pencil. I’ve got this in two shades: Innocent is a fab nude shade which is suitable from day to night. For a more vampy look, i’ve been wearing the luscious Sultana shade which does glossy gorgeousness in spades. But there are 12 shades to shop and all for £14.50. All in all a beauty winner: five stars.
ESPA Optimal Body TriSerum – living in Scotland, with the weather such as it is we can forget to look after the skin on our bodies: living in thermal underwear does that. However, summertime means showing some skin whether it be at home or on holiday and this new launch by ESPA is just the ticket. Containing active plant and marine extracts, I’ve been spraying onto skin post shower with little downtime to allow it to soak in. Non-greasy, you can spritz use on body anywhere and it will have soaked into skin by the time you put the top on. It contains seaweed and turmeric root to soothe skin and give it a lovely radiance. It’s left skin looking more nourished and less smaug the dragon and more me being smug. ESPA Optimal Body TriSerum, £38.
Elemental Herbology Macadamia & Papaya Radiance Body Scrub- made in England, this beauty brand prefers natural goodness rather than synthetic ingredients. Containing papaya, sea salts and sugar plus macadamia oil, this product combines the results of granular exfoliators but without any harshness. In fact this exfoliator is soft enough to use on the delicate décolletage area.
Kiehl’s Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Cream – This fab moisturiser is my current go-to. I love that its rich and really hydrates skin yet feels like when applying. It contains Calcium PCA which strengthens skin and Copper PCA which helps to prevent collagen loss. As someone in my…erm..thirties, anti-ageing is one of my skincare must-haves. I’ve been using this for a few weeks and have noticed an improvement in the appearance of skin; it looks smoother and happily hydrated.
Wild About Beauty Rose Water Illuminating Serum – I love to cheat my way to glowing skin. In fact, I think it’s probably one of my favourite aspects of beauty products. So I’ve recently been introduced to Wild about Beauty’s Rose Water Illuminating Serum, £22. It’s a multi-functioning production because aside from helping to cheat your way to a glow Jennifer Lopez would be proud of, it is also packed with moisturising and anti-ageing ingredients. I’ve been applying post moisturiser and before my makeup along my cheekbones and am really pleased with the results.
Burberry Fresh Glow Luscious Fluid Base in Nude Radiance – and while we’re on the subject of radiance faking, I’ve taken to layering the Burberry Burberry Fresh Glow Luscious Fluid Base in Nude Radiance, £34, on top: you know, because one is never enough. But both are really subtle and remain so even when applied together. And this Burberry product is also a great primer.
